How to use spells

Find an ancient tomb, learn a spell from its grimoire, assign it to your spell list, and cast it with a staff.

01 · Find an ancient tomb

Search for an ancient tomb hidden in a forest biome. This is where you can begin your search for a spell grimoire.

02 · Find the grimoire

Open the chest inside the tomb and look for a grimoire. A grimoire is not guaranteed to appear in every chest. When you find one, right-click it to learn the spell.

03 · Assign the spell

Press I to open the information interface, then switch to the magic assignment tab. Select the spell you learned and assign it to an available slot.

04 · Cast the spell

Hold a staff and press R to select the assigned spell. Hold G to begin chanting. Keep holding G until the chant is complete, then release it to cast the selected spell.

Tip: Key bindings can be changed in Minecraft → Options → Controls → Key Binds → Frieren Spells.
